Yates Volcano Trekking
We leave in the morning from our heliport with all the mountain equipment: crampons, cables, probes to walk on the glacier, south of the active volcano Yachts. Guides and Chef ready. Our flight goes towards the west, we flew close to the rapid jump in the rio Puelo. We continue up the eastern slope of the volcano Yachts full of cracks and sulfur fumes. If the weather allows, we landed at the base of the glacier of the south, where we begin to ascend and guided with ropes. We will see towards the north, the Reloncavi fjord, the Volcan Hornopiren to the south and the Comau Channel in the Pacific Ocean.
The views are excellent. To the east, the snow-capped Pointed, Osorno and Tronador. To our west and the majestic Pacific Ocean. Climbing a gentle slope, and admiring the stunning views of the four cardinal directions we arrived at the top to rest and take photos. When descending, we can smell the stench of sulfur from the volcano to finally arrive where the chef will cook in the place.
Sitting at our table campaign relaxed, enjoy our Barraco sour, wine and appetizers before the meal, all of this surrounded by snow capped peaks on all sides. The return flight is a flight of descent on the eastern side of the volcano and then the Valley of Puelo to get back to the Lodge.
