Set on the shores of Lake Tagua Tagua and framed by the Las Gualas mountain range, Barraco grew over time: first as a refuge, then as a home, and finally as a place to welcome travellers who value the experience beyond the destination. The lodge’s main house also has special historical significance: it was originally the home of the lonko, the traditional leader of the Mapuche community that lived in this valley. The lonko was a wise spiritual guide who represented the voice of his people. Today, that legacy lives on in the deep connection we seek to maintain with the land and its roots.
