Cataraft The Meek

The experience begins at the lodge. We cross Lake Tagua Tagua by ferry with one of our vehicles and the trailer carrying the cataraft. The lake crossing is the first stage of a unique journey into some of the Manso River’s wildest surroundings.

We launch the cataraft at the confluence of Río Frío and the Manso River, then travel downstream through pristine waters, surrounded by native forest and imposing mountains. The journey combines the excitement of river travel with the tranquillity of unspoilt surroundings. Along the way, there are opportunities to wade and fish among trees, roots and natural features. Standing in the river, surrounded by lush forest, offers an immersive way to experience Patagonia.

As we fish or simply drift downstream, the scenery keeps changing: gentle rapids, deep pools and calm stretches lead us towards the Puelo River. We follow its course to Lake Tagua Tagua to complete the circuit. This full-day experience is ideal for those seeking adventure and a close connection to nature, especially guests who enjoy fishing, paddling and memorable landscapes.
