Trekking Tagua Tagua

The Tagua Tagua Park is located in a portion of the Patagonian Andes where the forest, the water and the mountains interact as part of an endless life cycle. The geographical characteristics have allowed this valley to remain virgin over the years. Where its natural barriers, Lake Tagua Tagua in its lower part, and granite peaks in the other, have protected this beautiful place from the intervention of man.
Tagua-Tagua Park has a network of trails, covering a total of 18 kilometers. Its layout was designed to minimize the impact of visitors. This park has 3,000 hectares of native forest dedicated to conservation. There are two refuges in this park: the Alerces refuge and the Quetrus refuge. To access the Alerces refuge, you must walk 6.5 km in approximately 4 hours, reaching a height of 535 meters above sea level. Special mention deserves its view of a sunken larch forest, which simply captivates those who enjoy it. To get to the Quetrus refuge you must walk for approximately 5.5 hours, covering a total of 10 kilometers. This refuge has a beautiful view of the granite mountains, all surrounded by beautiful larch trees.
